There was no public comment.

Chairperson Steve Crandall called the meeting to order.

Motion:  To approve the meeting minutes of March 5, 2009. Kelly-Saunders (5-0 – Alphonso Taylor was not present for the vote)

Greg Kelly updated the EDA on the Buy Local campaign. A private business is working on a web-based application to promote the purchase of local goods and services. A new mid week farmers market will begin on Wednesdays in Lovingston in May. A new Saturday farmers market will open on Saturdays in May. Staff will research printing a Due Nelson bumper stickers to promote the Buy Local campaign to residents and regional consumers.

Results of the transportation study were reviewed. Greg Kelly and staff will work with the Planning District Commission to further refine the data collection and make recommendations on next steps.

Greg Kelly will work with the owners of the property on Cooperative Way and the Virginia Department of Transportation to pursue the signage for the Colleen Business Park.

Bids for the Business Appreciation event have been received.
Motion:  To authorize Natt Hall to negotiate the contract for the May event. Berry-Crandall (6-0)
