Chairperson Emily Pelton called the meeting to order and established that there was a quorum.

There was no public comment.

Motion:  To approve the April 7, 2011 meeting notes. Hall-Saunders (6-0)

Motion: To approve the business incentive agreements for Wild Wolf Brewing
Company/DMDK Properties LLC and Blue Mountain Barrel House and Organic
Brewery LLC and to direct and authorize the chairperson and
secretary/treasurer to execute the agreement documents on behalf of the
Nelson County Economic Development Authority. Hall-Bruguiere (6-0) *

Motion:  To establish a line item for compensation at a rate of $75 per day for members to attend full day sessions of EDA educational programs or EDA related business. Hall-Bruguiere (6-0)

Motion: To compensate members who attended May 17 and 18 EDA training. Taylor-Saunders (6-0)

Members directed staff to schedule a presentation from Susan Swink, Rural Health Outreach Corporate Wellness Program, for the September 2011meeting.

There was no public comment.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

* NOTE: The Board of Supervisors discussed these incentives at their May 10, 2011 meeting and authorized the EDA to offer the following incentives:

Blue Mountain: Four-year abatements for Real Estate taxes ($25,019); Tangible Personal Property ($4,869); Machinery & Tools ($11,900); and a one-time water & sewer connection fee abatement ($20,000) for a total of $61,788 for all grant incentives. Blue Mountain projects their investment over a five-year period will be $1,985,000.

Wild Wolf Brewery: Three-year abatements for Real Estate taxes ($20,810); Tangible Personal Property ($9,117); Machinery & Tools ($4,845) for a total of $34,772 for all grant incentives. Wild Wolf projects their investment in a one-year period will be $1,656,000.
