Chairperson Steve Crandall called the meeting to order.

Motion: To approve the April 2009 meeting minutes as written. Hall-Kelly (6-0 Erwin Berry was not present for this vote.)

Maureen Kelly updated the EDA on the Due Nelson – Buy Local campaign. The window decals have been ordered. Nelson County is now a community partner with the Piedmont Environmental Council (they manage the Buy Fresh-Buy Local campaign). Support continues for the Local Food Hub project. Promotion of the 3 local farmer’s market is a critical component of the summer marketing plan.

Greg Kelly reported on the conversation with the Planning District Commission. The survey results indicate a lack of interest in the transportation study from the most likely users.

Greg Kelly will continue to work with the adjacent landowners to find a location for the Colleen Business Park sign.

The Business Appreciation event is set for May 14, 2009 at The Carriage House at Oak Ridge Estate.
Motion:  To allow the Rockfish Valley Community Center to place a display at the event. Kelly-Pelton (7-0)

Staff was directed to research the cost and process for creating a large points of interest map to be distributed at retail outlets.
