Timeline for Schuyler Historic District Process:
June 2005 – DHR offers cost share funds to Nelson County; board of supervisors approve the match
July 2005 – Request for proposals advertised to hire the consultant to
write the formal nomination to the National Register of Historic Places
and Virginia Landmarks Register
August 2005 – DHR hires Arcadia Preservation
September 2005 – Nelson County staff meet with Arcadia Preservation and DHR to begin the survey work
September 21, 2005 – public meeting to update the community
November 2005 – Nelson County Board of Supervisors get an update from Arcadia Preservation and DHR
April 2006 – Public meeting to update the community
May 2006 – Formal notification to Schuyler property owners from DHR

June 2006 – State Review Board makes its decision on the nomination to
the National Register of Historic Places and Virginia Landmarks Register
March 2007 – Schuyler Historic District listed by the US Department of the Interior on the National Register of Historic Places
