WW I/WW II Document Scanning Day
August 4, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
The Nelson County Historical Society will be sponsoring an opportunity for local residents to bring their WW I and/or WW II items to Oakland Museum to be documented by the Library of Virginia. This event is in cooperation with the Virginia WW I/WW II Commission with personnel from the Library of Virginia on site to do the scanning.
Possible items to be scanned include discharge papers, letters, a blue star flag, pictures, portraits. The focus is World War I and II and only items from those time periods will be scanned.
Anyone may bring items between 10 am and 4pm. All items will be returned the day of the scanning. You do not need to make an appointment but it would be helpful if you would contact the Society (phone or email) if you are interested in participating. Please help us preserve this important era in American history.
