The County of Nelson will hold a public hearing on March 9, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the County Courthouse in Lovingston, Virginia to solicit public input on the proposed Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) proposal to be submitted to the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development for the Blue Ridge Medical Center Expansion Project.  Residents of the project area are encouraged to attend.  The Blue Ridge Medical Center Expansion Project will include the following activities:

1.  The overall scope of the project is a major expansion of the Blue Ridge Medical Center and its program(s) services.

2.  CDBG funding will be used for the renovation of the existing Blue Ridge Medical Center to accommodate provision of dental services and to house BRMC’s outreach program services.

The draft CDBG proposal will be presented for comment along with information on projected beneficiaries, including the number of low-to-moderate-income residents to benefit from the project, and plans to minimize displacement.  Citizens will also be given the opportunity to comment on Nelson County’s past use of CDBG funds.  A fact sheet on the proposed project and the draft proposal is available at (the) Nelson County Administrators office within the County Courthouse (84 Courthouse Square) in Lovingston, VA and at the Blue Ridge Medical Center, 4038 Thomas Nelson Highway, Arrington, VA  22922.  For additional information, contact Stephen A.
