On Tuesday Nov. 13, 2006, Keep Nelson Beautiful members will be at the Rockfish Collection Center (136 Rockfish School Lane) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to answer recycling questions and share news about products made from recycled materials.
Drawings for local, state, and national prizes. Opportunity to win an Alaskan cruise for Americal Recycles Day.

Reuse Shed at Rockfish

Keep Nelson Beautiful donated a storage shed to the Rockfish Collection Center to be used as a reuse facility. Don’t throw away useable household items. Leave them at the shed. Someone who needs the item can take it. While you are there look around, you might find something you can use. Free cycling can be fun!

Keep Nelson Beautiful sponsored the first county-wide litter pick-up during the months of March and April. Adopt-A-Highway and other volunteers were very supportive. Thank you!

One neighborhood cleaned up an illegal dump with 64 cubic yard of garbage.

Nelson County residents can take electronic items to Charlottesville for recycling. Location: Emmet St & Massie Rd (across from John Paul Jones Arena) Date: Sat. April 22, 2006 9 am-noon. Fees are charged for large items:

Monitors/CPUs $8.00, Portable TV $12.00, Consol TV $20.00, Video games $2.00/unit

No fee for keyboards, cell phones, or printers
