Tastings and tours can be found at our Nelson County distilleries. Nestled in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains off Route 29, you’ll find Virginia Distillery Company where you can enjoy tastings of single malt whisky and seasonally-inspired cocktails. A video, museum and tour experience give guests a look inside the whisky-making scene.
Nearby Woods Mill Distillery is a farm distillery handcrafting single-barrel brandies, bourbons and whiskies from locally-sourced fruits and grains, and is open weekends for tours and tastings.
Silverback Distillery in the Afton area produces distinct and flavorful spirits by using a perfect blend of Virginia grains, pure water, and American craftsmanship. Try Strange Monkey gin, vodka, and other spirits.
The newest distillery on the scene is Devils Backbone Distilling Company – on the grounds of Devils Backbone Brewing Company in Roseland. The distillery will be initially producing gin, silver rum & fine brandy (seasonal) followed by brown spirits.
