Democracy Vineyards

Flying Fox Vineyard
Nelson’s newest tasting room is open Friday through Sundays from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. “Our best wine is the one you enjoy the most.” Flying Fox Vineyard began with the planting of our vines in 2000. We  love to grow grapes, but making wine is a close second. Our wine  production is very limited but we have Merlot, Cabernet Franc,  Viognier, Chardonnay, and red and white table wines, both of which  are lightly sweet. The red grapes are grown in our personal 6 acre vineyard in Afton and the Viognier is from the vineyard of family members Jon and Jane Zieman in the Shenandoah Valley. This is Virginia grape growing at its best.
