Virginia Farmers Market Week
April 27 - May 3
Much like our restaurants and other local businesses, COVID-19 is causing Virginia’s farmers’ markets to alter their business model by offering curbside pick-up and/or no-contact delivery.
In an effort to support farmers’ markets across the Commonwealth that provide locally grown foods to our communities, Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC) and the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) will announce Virginia Farmers’ Market Week on April 23 to encourage Virginians to fill their pantries with fresh, locally-grown produce, meats, seafood, and other goods.
The Nelson County Farmer’s Market opens May 2 from 9-11AM at the Nellysford location as a drive-through service, though patrons will need to order from individual vendors ahead of time. Check out the Nelson County Farmers Market’s Facebook page for details and upcoming announcement of participating vendors. The market is open on Saturdays through October.
