These breweries have been producing award-winning craft beers that are critically acclaimed and celebrated far beyond our region’s borders. The newest breweries in Nelson County include Wood Ridge Farm Brewery and Outback Brew House in Lovingston and Brewing Tree Beer Company Wild Man Dan’s Beer Centric Brewery in Afton and Three Notch’d Brewing Company in Nellysford.
Virginia Cider leads the current American cider revival, crafting many styles of fine cider. Bold Rock Hard Cider in the Nellysford area features various hard cider varieties made from Virginia apples. In Wintergreen, you can also taste a variety of ciders at Blue Toad Hard Cider at High View Farm. Bryant’s Cidery and Brewery features cider tastings as well as beer at its Roseland farm location.
