Blue Ridge Mountain Guides provides customized rock and ice climbing trips and guiding for all abilities. Virginia has prime rock climbing nestled into the Blue Ridge Mountains! Within minutes of Wintergreen Ski Resort, cliffs range from 30-300’ tall with a variety of climbing styles. The Blue Ridge Parkway has both rock and ice climbs with low angle slabs, which are perfect for beginners, and vertical to overhung walls suited for advanced climbers looking to push their abilities. These areas are ideal for first time climbers, instructional courses, experiencing VA climbing, and preparing for big objectives.

Pinnacle Ridge is located in the Priest Wilderness Area of the George Washington-Jefferson National Forest in Nelson County, Virginia. Just east of Crabtree Falls, it has fantastic views of the Priest, Three Ridges, and the valley below. Pinnacle has large granite slabs, numerous boulders, and challenging routes. Bouldering and traditional climbing using removable gear is allowed, but use of bolts or pitons is not.

Blackrock Park contains a large number of climbing crags, and has several weeks’ worth of different routes. This rock was created millions of years ago and is known as the Pedlar Formations. Not all the routes are directly off the trail, but some bush-whacking and treading without a trail is required to access different pitches, such as the East Walls. Blackrock Park is located in Wintergreen Resort.
