Thanks for visiting us here at L&B Farms. My name is Lauren Shifflett, and my husband and I manage our small farm here in Schuyler, Virginia. I have always dreamed of running my own homestead as I have always had a passion for animals and desire to be self sufficient.
Over the last year I have maintained my sourdough starters and baked a variety of different sourdough items that we love. Turns out, a lot of other people love them too so I completed my Food Handler’s Certification and began a small in home bakery offering a multiple list of baked goods. After seeing the love for my baked goods, I wanted to continue to learn and do more with our farm.
With lots of poking and prodding my husband agreed to adding three Nigerian Dwarf Goats; Mikko, Poppy and Ellie Mae. These three have given us new life, fresh milk, and lots of laughs. These three have allowed me to do even more with our business and craft handmade goat milk soaps with all natural ingredients, plus very tasty milk that is the most similar to fresh cow’s milk.
