Lyndhurst
Home to Humpback Rocks, one of the most popular destinations along the Blue Ridge Parkway at milepost 5.8. The Humpback Rocks Trail is a 2.0-mile loop that ascends approximately 740 feet to the peak, providing hikers with a 360-degree view of the surrounding terrain. From the summit, visitors can see into the southern section of Shenandoah National Park to the north, a patchwork of farms to the east, and the thick woods and mountain ridges of the George Washington National Forest to the southwest. The granite outcrop at Humpback Rocks offers Virginia's premier traditional climbing routes, with clean, solid granite featuring classic Blue Ridge routes that demand both technical skill and mental fortitude. The Humpback Rocks Visitor Center is fully ADA accessible and serves as an excellent starting point for exploring the area.
