From Virginia’s oldest winery, farm wineries, terraced vineyards and rustic to elegant modern tasting rooms, Nelson County offers many unique wine-tasting experiences for the wine lover.
With easy access to the Route 29 corridor, the following wineries are open to visitors: Lovingston Winery, Mountain and Vine Vineyards, and Brent Manor Vineyards
Along Route 151 are Veritas Vineyard and Winery, Cardinal Point Winery, Afton Mountain Vineyards, Flying Fox Vineyard, Valley Road Vineyards, Caihailian Vineyard and Hill Top Berry Farm and Winery. Atop the Blue Ridge Parkway, you can find 12 Ridges Vineyard and Winery.
Most of the wineries have special events on selected weekends and usually include music and food along with wine tasting. Tours, picnic facilities and wine gift items are often available. Wineries can also be booked for special events and weddings.
