High Lonesome Cabin was built in 2008 in the Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains. This rustic cabin sits on 20 secluded acres high on a steep finger of the Priest Mountain near the Appalachian Trail in Tyro Va., minutes from Crabtree Falls. When you stay at High Lonesome you have a mountain all to yourself, and you may never feel the need to start the car again until you have to leave. But if you do venture out, wineries, orchards, stables, golf, rivers, antiques, lakes and trails are all within minutes of the long gravel driveway.

Lodging Description
What Makes This Space Unique
The main attraction of the High Lonesome is definitely outdoors, but the inside is pretty cool, too. There’s a porch with a great view, picnic table, ceiling fan, rustic natural log columns, rocking chairs and outdoor speakers….or just listen to the birds and the Tye river off in the distance. Moving inside, there’s a small table for dining or cards, a dartboard, a wood stove/ fireplace, plenty of seating to watch a movie on the smart TV, gorgeous stonework with cedar and pine walls/floors, a decent sized kitchen with cookware and utensils provided, small bathroom with shower only. In the back is a small but cozy master bedroom with a very comfortable queen-sized bed. Both areas have ceiling fans and there is a wall mounted heat pump unit for AC/heat. Up the spiral staircase is the loft with a queen-size and a double bed…there’s a TV with dvd player and a Gamecube and lots of video games.
